ORDINANCE NO. BL2001-696

An ordinance amending Chapter 12.58 of the Metropolitan Code relating to Roller Skates and In-Line Skates by making the provisions of such chapter applicable to Scooters.

WHEREAS, the growing use of scooters, especially by children, should be regulated the same as roller skates and in-line skates as they are used essentially in the same manner, so as to provide protection and safety for the users.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. Chapter 12.58 of the Metropolitan Code shall be and the same is hereby amended by deleting the phrase "in-line skates or roller skates" wherein it appears in Section Nos. 12.58.010, 12.58.020, 12.58.030, 12.58.040, 12.58.050, 12.58.060, 12.58.070, and 12.58.080 and substituting in lieu thereof the phrase "scooters, in-line skates or roller skates".

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
