An ordinance approving a grant agreement in an amount not to exceed $62,000.00 from the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, to the Metropolitan Government, Office of Emergency Management, for emergency management services.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, has federal funds available to "pass through" to local governments for emergency management services; and,

Whereas, the services include the development and maintenance of a Basic Emergency Operations Plan and standard operating procedures, as well as reports to the State; and,

Whereas, the Metropolitan Government, through the Mayor's Office of Emergency Management and the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, agrees to the terms of said Grant Agreement, No. 2-01-004142-00, for a grant of $62,000.00 to the Metropolitan Government; and,

Whereas, it is in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government to accept said grant and execute the Grant Agreement.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

Section 1. That Grant Agreement No. 2-01-004142-00 entered into between the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Office of Emergency Management, for emergency management services in an amount not to exceed $62,000.00, and for a term commencing on October 1, 2000 and ending on September 30, 2001, be and the same is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute said Grant Agreement.

Section 2. That any amendment to Grant Agreement No. 2-01-004142-00 may be approved by resolution receiving twenty-one (21) votes of the Metropolitan Council.

Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its enactment, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
