ORDINANCE NO. BL2001-627

An ordinance amending Section 10.44.010 of the Metropolitan Code by redefining mass gatherings and amending Section 10.44.120 of the Metropolitan Code relating to security for crowd control.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. Section 10.44.010 of the Metropolitan Code shall be and the same is hereby amended by amending the definition of "Mass gathering" by deleting the phrase "and to continue for twelve or more hours".

SECTION 2. Section 10.44.120 of the Metropolitan Code shall be and the same is hereby amended by deleting the phrase "Security guards either regularly employed, duly sworn-in, off-duty police officers or private security guards" wherein it appears and substituting in lieu thereof the following phrase: "Off-duty police officers of the metropolitan police department".

SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
