ORDINANCE NO. BL2001-624

An ordinance approving an increase in the amount of $620,000 to a grant to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, from the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, for the development of the downtown greenway.

Whereas, by adopting Ordinance No. 097-861, the Metropolitan Council approved a grant (the "Grant") in the amount of $640,000 to Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, from the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, for the development of the downtown greenway; and

Whereas, the parties seek to increase the amount of the Grant by $620,000, for a total of $1,260,000 pursuant to the terms set forth in the document (the "Grant Agreement") approved by Ordinance No. 097-861 and attached to this ordinance for reference; and

Whereas, the citizens of Nashville and Davidson County will benefit by accepting the increased Grant amount;

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. The increase to the Grant is hereby approved.

Section 2. Any further amendment to the Grant must be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving at least 21 affirmative votes.

Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
