ORDINANCE NO. BL2001-588

An ordinance authorizing the sale of certain property described herein (Part of Parcel 5, Tax Map 51-2) located at 321 Port Drive, to the State of Tennessee in conjunction with the construction of Project No. 19012-2152-44.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, owns certain real property (Tax Map 51-2, Parcel 5) consisting of some 14.07 acres, more or less; and

WHEREAS, said property is currently used as the site of Chadwell Elementary School; and

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, in conjunction with Project No. 19012-2152-44, has need of a portion (1954 square feet) of said property for the purposes of right-of-way area (see Exhibit A); and

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee has offered to purchase said property for a total of $1,900.00; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Property has determined said offer to be fair; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Education has approved this request and has agreed to accept said offer.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. That the Director of Public Property Administration is hereby authorized and directed to sell part of Parcel 5, Tax Map 51-2 (see Exhibit A), to the State of Tennessee for use in Project No. 19012-2152-44, and is hereby authorized to execute the necessary documents pertaining thereto.

SECTION 2. The proceeds from the sale of said property shall be credited to the General Fund of the Metropolitan Board of Education.

SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, requiring it.
