ORDINANCE NO. BL2000-563

An ordinance authorizing the Police Department of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to accept the donation of Tennessee Walking Horses from various private individuals.

Whereas, the Metropolitan Police Department has established a Mounted Patrol Unit; and

Whereas, members of the Tennessee Walking Horse Association desire to donate Tennessee Walking horses to assist in the establishment of the Metropolitan Police Department Mounted Patrol Unit; and

Whereas, the Metropolitan Police Department has a need for the horses to be donated; and

Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government to authorize the acceptance of the donations.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the Police Department of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is hereby authorized to accept the donation of the following horses by the donors listed:

Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
