ORDINANCE NO. BL2000-487

An ordinance approving a grant from the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Nashville Public Library Board, for funding for the Teen Homework and Computing Center Project.

Whereas, the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation, has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed two hundred sixteen thousand dollars ($216,000) to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Nashville Public Library Board for funding for the Teen Homework and Computing Center Project; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Metropolitan Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the grant by and between the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Nashville Public Library Board, for funding for the Teen Homework and Computing Center Project, in an amount not to exceed two hundred sixteen thousand dollars ($216,000) a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That any amendments to this Grant shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty-one affirmative votes.

Section 3 That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
