ORDINANCE NO. BL2000-417

An ordinance approving a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan State Trial Courts for the establishment of residential substance abuse treatment projects.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed one million four hundred twenty thousand two hundred eighty-eight dollars ($1,420,288) for a term of July 1, 2000 through June 30, 2004, to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan State Trial Courts for the establishment of residential substance abuse treatment projects; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, in an amount not to exceed one million four hundred twenty thousand two hundred eighty-eight dollars ($1,420,288) for a term of July 1, 2000 to June 30, 2004, to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the State Trial Courts for the establishment of residential substance abuse treatment projects, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the sum of one hundred eighteen thousand three hundred fifty six dollars ($118,356) be provided each year for the purpose of providing the Metropolitan Government’s matching share for the program.

Section 3. Any amendments to this grant may be approved by a resolution of the Metropolitan Council, which receives at least twenty-one affirmative votes.

Section 4. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
