ORDINANCE NO. BL2000-415

An ordinance approving a lease agreement by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acting through the Nashville Career Advancement Center and Wilson County Government for office space to provide programs under the Workforce Investment Act.

Whereas, the Nashville Career Advancement Center is the local fiscal agent and administrator of federal funds allocated to the Middle Tennessee Local Workforce Investment Area under the Workforce Investment Act and Families First program; and

Whereas, the Middle Tennessee Local Workforce Investment Area is comprised of Davidson, Rutherford, Trousdale and Wilson counties; and

Whereas, it is the responsibility of the Nashville Career Advancement Center, as the local fiscal agent, to administer Workforce Investment Act programs in each of the counties located within the local area; and

Whereas, the Nashville Career Advancement Center has negotiated a lease agreement for office space at 812 North Cumberland Drive, County of Wilson, Lebanon, Tennessee 37087 with the Wilson County Government, a copy of which is attached hereto; and

Whereas, the lease is for a period of one year commencing July 1, 2000 and ending June 30, 2001, at a monthly rental rate of one thousand seven hundred dollars ($1700); and

Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government to approve said lease agreement.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: That the lease agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, and the Wilson County Government for office space at 812 North Cumberland Drive, County of Wilson, Lebanon, Tennessee 37087, for a period of one year commencing July 1, 2000 and ending June 30, 2001, at a monthly rental rate of one thousand seven hundred dollars ($1700), a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2: That any amendments to this lease agreement shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty-one affirmative votes.

Section 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
