ORDINANCE NO. BL2000-410

An ordinance approving a grant in the amount of $20,000 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, for the urban and community forestry grant assistance program.

Whereas, pursuant to the terms set forth in the document attached as Exhibit A to this Ordinance, the State of Tennessee, Department of Agriculture proposes to grant (the "Grant") to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, the sum of twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) for use in as part of the urban and community forestry grant assistance program; and

Whereas, the citizens of Nashville and Davidson County will benefit by accepting the Grant.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. The Grant (Exhibit A) is hereby approved.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the Grant.

Section 3. Any amendment to the Grant must be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving at least 21 affirmative votes.

Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
