ORDINANCE NO. BL2000-406

An ordinance amending Section 2.148.010 of the Metropolitan Code by deleting the requirement that one member of the Metropolitan Tourism and Convention Commission be associated with a theme park.

WHEREAS, Section 2.148.010 C. of the Metropolitan Code presently requires that one of the four commissioners of the Metropolitan Tourism and Convention Commission appointed by the Mayor from tourist-related industries be associated with a theme park; and

WHEREAS, as Opryland USA theme park has been closed and replaced by shopping and entertainment complex such a requirement is no longer necessary.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. Section 2.148.010 C. of the Metropolitan Code shall be and the same is hereby amended by deleting the following provision:

";one of whom shall be associated with a theme park"

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
