ORDINANCE NO. BL2000-400

An ordinance approving a grant contract from the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Police Department for the Victims of Crime Act Grant Project.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, has awarded a grant contract in an amount not to exceed one hundred sixty seven thousand one hundred seventy two dollars ($167,172) ) to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Police Department for the Victims of Crime Act Grant Project; and,

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted;

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, in an amount not to exceed one hundred sixty seven thousand one hundred seventy two dollars ($167,172) for a term of July 1, 2000 to June 30, 2003, to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Police Department for the Victims of Crime Act Grant Project, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That matching funds in the amount of thirteen thousand nine hundred thirty-one dollars ($13,931) per year be provided for the purpose of providing the Metropolitan Government’s matching in kind share for the program.

Section 3. That any amendments to this grant shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty-one affirmative votes.

Section 4. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
