Ordinance No. BL2000-336

An ordinance authorizing a grant in an amount not to exceed $7,200 between the State of Tennessee Department of State, and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Public Library, for provision of funds to purchase computers.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of State has awarded a grant for the term of July 1, 2000, to September 30, 2000, in an amount not to exceed seven thousand two hundred dollars ($7,200) to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Public Library for the provision of funds to purchase computers; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to accept this grant.

Now therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of State, for the term of July 1, 2000, to September 30, 2000, in an amount not to exceed seven thousand two hundred dollars ($7,200), for the provision of funds to purchase computers, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the sum of seven thousand two hundred dollars be provided from the general fund reserve fund for the purpose of providing the Metropolitan Government’s matching share.

Section 3. Any amendments to this grant may be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council, which receives at least twenty-one affirmative votes.

Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
