ORDINANCE NO. BL2000-296

An ordinance authorizing the donation of certain land to the YWCA of Nashville from The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee.

WHEREAS, previously, through Ordinance No. O98-1043, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, approved the conveyance of approximately 3.50 acres, more or less, to the YWCA of Nashville; and

WHEREAS, the YWCA has now requested an additional 1.314 acres, more or less, to be used as a buffer zone and enhancement for the property; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan County Council has gone on record in Resolution No. R97-621 as being in support of the concept of a partnership between the Metropolitan Government and the YWCA in the construction of a shelter for victims of domestic abuse.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. That the Director of Public Property Administration is hereby authorized and directed to convey an additional part of Parcel 35 on Tax Map 80 (shown on Exhibit A), to the YWCA of Nashville and is authorized to execute the necessary deed of conveyance and/or documents pertaining thereto.

SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, requiring it.
