ORDINANCE NO. BL2000-276

An ordinance accepting donations to the Metropolitan Police Department Canine Unit during fiscal year 1999-2000 in the total amount of four thousand three hundred twenty-five dollars ($4,325.00) and appropriating this amount to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Department of Police, to purchase equipment for the Police Special Investigation Division’s Canine Unit.

Whereas, the Metropolitan Police Department operates a Special Investigation Canine Unit; and,

Whereas, the Metropolitan Police Department wishes to accept donations received during the fiscal year 1999-2000 in an amount totaling four thousand three hundred and twenty-five dollars ($4,325.00) to the Canine Unit of the Metropolitan Police Department to purchase equipment for the Police Special Investigation Division’s Canine Unit; and,

Whereas, the Police Special Investigation Division’s Canine Unit has the need for such equipment.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: That the donations in an amount totaling four thousand three hundred and twenty-five dollars ($4,325.00) to the Metropolitan Government, Department of Police, Special Investigation Division's Canine Unit is accepted.

Section 2. That the sum donated shall be deposited in Metropolitan Police Department account number 31130400 for use in purchasing equipment for the Police Special Investigation Division’s Canine Unit.

Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
