ORDINANCE NO. BL2000-274

An ordinance authorizing the Metropolitan Human Relations Commission to accept cash donations for support of their May 16, 2000, Human Relations Conference.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Human Relations Commission is holding a Human Relations Conference on May 16, 2000, which is to be funded by private donations and sponsorships; and

WHEREAS, the purpose of this conference is to encourage teaching of tolerance and to promote the elimination of prejudice and discrimination; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Human Relations Commission be authorized to accept cash donations in the form of sponsorships and the payment of cash donations for ads in the conference program booklet.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan Human Relations Commission is authorized to accept cash donations for support of their May 16, 2000, Human Relations Conference.

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
