ORDINANCE NO. BL2000-205

An ordinance authorizing acceptance of a grant agreement between Tennessee Emergency Management Agency and the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management for tornado reimbursement in an amount not to exceed $630,552.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed six hundred thirty thousand, five hundred and fifty-two dollars ($630,552.00) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for tornado reimbursement expenses for the period from May 5, 1999, to May 4, 2004; and

Whereas, it is to benefit the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to accept this tornado reimbursement grant:

Now, therefore be it enacted by the Council of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Military, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency in an amount not to exceed six hundred thirty thousand, five hundred and fifty-two dollars ($630,552.00) to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein as is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2: That any amendments to this grant shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council with twenty-one affirmative votes.

Section 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
