ORDINANCE NO. BL2000-183

An ordinance approving a grant not to exceed Sixty Eight Thousand Fifty Dollars ($68,050.00) from the Gates Library Foundation to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Nashville Public Library, to expand public access to computers and the Internet.

Whereas, the Gates Library Foundation has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed Sixty Eight Thousand Fifty Dollars ($68,050.00) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Nashville Public Library, for the purpose of expanding public access to computers and the Internet; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the grant by and between The Gates Library Foundation and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Nashville Public Library, to expand public access to computers and the Internet, in an amount not to exceed Sixty Eight Thousand Fifty Dollars ($68,050.00), a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That any amendments to this grant shall be approved by resolution by twenty-one (21) affirmative vote of the Metropolitan Council.

Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
