ORDINANCE NO. BL2000-138

An ordinance accepting the donation of a sum not to exceed fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) from the Nathanson Foundation to the Metropolitan Government, Department of Police.

Whereas, the Metropolitan Police Department operates a Bomb Squad unit as part of its Special Investigations Division; and,

Whereas, the Nathanson Foundation has offered to donate the sum of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) to the Metropolitan Government, Department of Police for use in purchasing equipment for the Police Special Investigation Division’s Bomb Squad unit; and,

Whereas, the Metropolitan Police Department has a need for such equipment; and,

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: That the donation of a sum not to exceed fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) from the Nathanson Foundation to the Metropolitan Government, Department of Police for the purchase of equipment for the Police Special Investigations Division’s Bomb Squad is hereby accepted.

Section 2. That the sum donated shall be deposited in the Special Investigations account of the Metropolitan Police Department, No. 31130400.409300 and that the sum deposited be used for the purchase of equipment for the Bomb Squad.

Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
