ORDINANCE NO. BL2000-126
An ordinance authorizing The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to accept a waste tire storage and disposal grant from the State of Tennessee for the purpose of collection and disposal of waste tires.
Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Environment and Conservation has made available to the Metropolitan Government a grant not to exceed $99,000 for the purpose of collecting and disposing of waste tires, pursuant to the Solid Waste Management Act of 1991, Tenn. Code Ann. 68-211-801, et seq; and
Whereas, it is in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government that the grant be accepted.
Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Government is authorized to accept the grant in an amount not to exceed $99,000 offered by the State of Tennessee term ending on June 30, 2000 (which grant agreement is attached hereto and made a part of this ordinance), be and the same is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute said grant.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
