SUBSTITUTE ORDINANCE NO. SO98-1452

A substitute ordinance approving the sale of certain property owned by The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee (Part of Parcel 43, Tax Map 70-15 and part of Parcel 206, Tax Map 70-14 - Metrocenter Boulevard).

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County owns two parcels of property totaling some 20.96 acres, more or less; and

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County has determined that 0.86 acres of this property (see attached Exhibit A) is not needed for park purposes; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has approved the sale of this property and has retained sufficient land for future use; and

WHEREAS, the Public Property Administration has established a minimum selling price of $37,500.00 for said property; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Property Administration is authorized to sell property, subject to the approval of the Metropolitan County Council and Mayor.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan County Council declares that the following land held by the Metropolitan Government to be surplus:

Part of Parcel 43, Tax Map 70-15

Part of Parcel 206, Tax Map 70-14

Metrocenter Boulevard

SECTION 2. The Director of Public Property Administration is hereby authorized to sell, for a minimum amount of $37,500.00, the said property listed above to an adjacent property owner in accordance with established rules and regulations and to execute the necessary documents pertaining thereto.

SECTION 3. The proceeds from the sale of said property shall be credited to the General Fund of the Metropolitan Government.

SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
