ORDINANCE NO. O99-1820

An ordinance accepting a grant award in an amount not to exceed $54,900 from the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the District Attorney Office for the 20th Judicial District for the Stop the Violence Against Women Grant Project.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed fifty four thousand nine hundred dollars ($54,900) to The Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference to be used by The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the District Attorney Office for the 20th Judicial District for the Stop the Violence Against Women Grant Project; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by The Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the grant award from the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, in an amount not to exceed fifty four thousand nine hundred dollars ($54,900) to The Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference to be used by The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the District Attorney Office for the 20th Judicial District for the Stop the Violence Against Women Grant Project, for a one year term from July 1, 1999 to June 30, 2000, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby accepted.

Section 2. That the sum of eighteen thousand three hundred dollars ($18,300) be provided for the purpose of providing the Metropolitan Government’s matching share for the program.

Section 3. Any amendments to this grant award may be approved by a resolution of the Metropolitan Council which receives at least twenty-one affirmative votes.

Section 4. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
