ORDINANCE NO. O99-1809

An ordinance to transfer the functions of the division of Health Services Certifications from the Department of Social Services to Metropolitan Nashville General Hospital and transferring employees from the Department of Social Services to Metropolitan Nashville General Hospital.

Whereas, the functions of the Health Services Certification were placed under the Department of Social Services under the direction of the its Director; and

Whereas, it is the desire of the Metropolitan Council of Nashville and Davidson County that the Division of Health Services Certification be transferred to Metropolitan Nashville General Hospital; and

Whereas, such a transfer of functions will assure patients needed services and yield maximum revenue for the hospital and is most effective when integrated with related services in General Hospital; and

Whereas, Section 2.01(36) of the Metropolitan Charter of Nashville and Davidson County authorizes the Metropolitan Council to confer necessary and appropriate authority for carrying out the powers of the Council upon the various metropolitan departments and boards.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: All positions and personnel assigned to the Health Services Certification division of the Department of Social Services shall be transferred to Metropolitan Nashville General Hospital on the effective date of this ordinance.

Section 2: This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
