ORDINANCE NO. O99-1797

An ordinance approving a Edward Byrne Memorial Formula Grant in an amount not to exceed $74,625 from the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Department of Justice Information Systems for the Davidson County CJIS Justice Wide Imaging Project.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, has awarded Grant No. 98DG132 in an amount not to exceed seventy four thousand six hundred twenty five dollars ($74,625) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Department of Justice Information Systems for the Davidson County CJIS Justice Wide Imaging Project; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, in an amount not to exceed seventy four thousand six hundred twenty five dollars ($74,625) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Department of Justice Information Systems for the Davidson County CJIS Justice Wide Imaging Project, for a one year term from July 1, 1999 to June 30, 2000, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the sum of twenty four thousand eight hundred seventy five dollars ($24,875) be provided for the purpose of providing the Metropolitan Government’s matching share for the program.

Section 3. Any amendments to this grant may be approved by a resolution of the Metropolitan Council which receives at least twenty-one affirmative votes.

Section 4. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
