ORDINANCE NO. O99-1664

An ordinance accepting the donation of a Pace American six-foot by ten-foot trailer by the Police Explorers to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Whereas, Police Explorer Post #911 has offered to donate a Pace American six-foot by ten-foot trailer with a value of approximately two-thousand dollars ($ 2,000.00) to the Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County Police Department; and

Whereas, the Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County Police Department desires to support youth organizations in their activities; and

Whereas, the donated trailer would be used and maintained by the Police Department in its Crime Prevention Division to transport supplies and equipment in support of Police Explorer activities; and

Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and its citizens to accept the donation of this trailer from the Police Explorers to the Metropolitan Police Department for use in supporting Police Explorers activities;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the donation of the Pace American trailer from the Police Explorers to the Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County Police Department is hereby accepted.

Section 2. The trailer is to be listed as the property of the Metropolitan Government and shall be assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department Crime Prevention Division for use in support of Police Explorer activities.

Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
