ORDINANCE NO. O99-1663

An ordinance authorizing the conveyance of Hope Gardens Park located at 1006 Phillips Street to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (Map 81-16, Parcel 625).

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency owns certain property, (Map 81-16, Parcel 625); and

WHEREAS, the subject property was purchased in accordance with the Phillips - Jackson Redevelopment Plan and specifically the Hope Gardens Neighborhood Plan to abate a blighting condition and create open greenspace for the residential neighborhood of Hope Gardens; and

WHEREAS, the construction of the park improvements has been completed in cooperation with the Department of Parks and Recreation; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has agreed to accept the park; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Property Administration is authorized to cause certain property to be accepted by conveyance from the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency, subject to the approval of the Metropolitan County Council and Mayor.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council approves the following land owned by The Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency to be accepted by the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee: 1009 Phillips Street, Map 82-16, Parcel 625.

SECTION 2. The Director of Public Property Administration is hereby authorized to cause certain property to be conveyed from the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, and to execute any documents related thereto.

SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, requiring it.
