ORDINANCE NO. O99-1649

An ordinance amending Section 11.12.080 of the Metropolitan Code by prohibiting the discharge of firearms in the general services district during the nighttime.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. Section 11.12.080 A. of the Metropolitan Code shall be and the same is hereby amended by deleting it in its entirety and substituting in lieu thereof the following provisions:

"A. It is unlawful for any person to discharge or fire any firearm within the urban services district of the metropolitan government at any time, and within the general services district of the metropolitan government during the nighttime."

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

AMENDMENT NO. 1

TO

ORDINANCE NO. O99-1649

Mr. President:

I move to amend Ordinance No. O99-1649 by amending Section 1 thereof by adding the following sentence to the new Section 11.12.080 A.:

"For the purposes of this section, the word ‘nighttime’ shall mean that period of time beginning at 6:00 p.m. and ending at 6:00 a.m.".
