ORDINANCE NO. O99-1596

An ordinance accepting a donation from the Nashville Drug Court Support Foundation, Inc. and appropriating funds from increased revenue sources to the State Trial Courts to support the match requirement for the Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Grant approved by Ordinance No. O98-1380.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, has awarded a grant contract for the provision of a Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Program for state offenders; and

WHEREAS, the grant contract between the State of Tennessee and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requires matching funds; and

WHEREAS, the Nashville Drug Court Support Foundation, Inc. has offered to donate a sum not to exceed Thirty Thousand Nine Hundred and Two Dollars ($30,902) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the purpose of providing partial match for State Trial Courts Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Grant; and

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to accept the donation from the Nashville Drug Court Support Foundation, Inc. for the purpose of assisting with the match requirement for the State Trial Courts Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Grant and to place said funds in the General Fund of the General Services District; and

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1: That a sum of not to exceed Thirty Thousand Nine Hundred and Two Dollars ($30,902) is hereby accepted from the Nashville Drug Court Support Foundation, Inc. and deposited into the General Fund of the General Services District.

Section 2: That a sum equal to the amount donated, not to exceed Thirty Thousand Nine Hundred and Two Dollars ($30,902) is hereby appropriated from the General Fund of the General Services District to the following account listed below which is in addition to those contained in the current operating budget:

Section 3: The above additional appropriation is to be funded from the following source:

Section 4: That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
