ORDINANCE NO. O99-1506
An ordinance approving a contract between the Vanderbilt University, School of Nursing and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Board of Hospitals to permit student nurses to serve an internship at Metropolitan Nashville General Hospital.
Whereas, Vanderbilt University, School of Nursing wishes to contract with Metropolitan Nashville General Hospital for an ongoing student internship program; and
Whereas, the internship program, supervised by teachers from the Vanderbilt School of Nursing, will provide the students with clinical experience and provide patients at Metropolitan Nashville General Hospital with additional nursing care; and
Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this contract be approved.
Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1. That the contract by and between Vanderbilt University, School of Nursing and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Board of Hospitals, for student nurses to intern at the Metropolitan Nashville General Hospital, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That any amendments to this contract shall be approved by resolution by twenty-one affirmative vote of the Metropolitan Council.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
