ORDINANCE NO. O98-1495

An ordinance accepting two grants in the total amount of Thirty-three Thousand Three Hundred Twenty-five Dollars ($33,325.00) from the State of Tennessee Department of Agriculture to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Board of Parks and Recreation for the urban and community forestry grant assistance program.

Whereas, pursuant to the terms set forth in the document attached as Exhibit A, the State of Tennessee Department of Agriculture has proposed to grant to the Metropolitan Government, acting through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, the sum of seventeen thousand nine hundred dollars ($17,900) for the benefit of the urban and community forestry program; and

Whereas, pursuant to the terms set forth in the document attached as Exhibit B, the State of Tennessee Department of Agriculture has proposed to grant to the Metropolitan Government, acting through the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation, the sum of fifteen thousand four hundred twenty five dollars ($15,425) for the benefit of the urban and community forestry program; and

Whereas, the citizens of Nashville and Davidson County will benefit by accepting the grants documented in Exhibits A and B.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The grant documented in Exhibit A is hereby accepted.

SECTION 2. The grant documented in Exhibit B is hereby accepted.

SECTION 3. The Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute Exhibits A and B.

SECTION 4. Any amendment to the either Exhibit A or Exhibit B must be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving at least 21 affirmative votes.

section 5. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
