ORDINANCE NO. O98-1494

An ordinance approving the transfer of certain property held by The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee to the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency (Parcel 249, Map 92-4).

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County owns a certain parcel of property; and

WHEREAS, this property was acquired due to the failure of payment of property taxes by the previous owner; and

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County has determined that this parcel of property is no longer needed for governmental purposes; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency has expressed the desire to acquire these property to provide home ownership opportunities; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Property Administration is authorized to transfer property, subject to the approval of the Metropolitan County Council and Mayor.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan County Council declares that the following parcels of land held by the Metropolitan Government to be surplus

Parcel 249, Map 92-4

SECTION 2. The Director of Public Property Administration is hereby authorized to transfer said property listed above to the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency and is authorized to execute the necessary documents pertaining thereto.

SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, requiring it.
