ORDINANCE NO. O98-1477 

An ordinance accepting a grant in the amount of $4,000.00 from the State of Tennessee, Office of the Secretary of State, to the Public Library of Nashville and Davidson County, for the Mary and Charles W. Pruitt Library for the purchase of display equipment and for the implementation of an acquisitions program for artifacts and works of art.

 Whereas, the Mary and Charles W. Pruitt Library is undergoing an expansion project which will incorporate a large gallery area as well as a multipurpose room;

Whereas, the Public Library of Nashville and Davidson County has submitted a Grant application/agreement to the Tennessee Secretary of State for the purpose of purchasing equipment for display areas and to begin an acquisitions program for artifacts and works of art for the museum areas of the new facilities of The Mary and Charles W. Pruitt Library expansion project;

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Office of the Secretary of State, has awarded and sent a Grant in the amount of Four Thousand dollars ($4,000.00) to the Public Library of Nashville and Davidson County for use by The Mary and Charles W. Pruitt Library for the purchase of display equipment and for the implementation of an acquisitions program for artifacts and works of art; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: That the Grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Office of the Secretary of State, and the Public Library of Nashville and Davidson County, for The Mary and Charles W. Pruitt Branch Library expansion project, in the amount of Four Thousand dollars ($4,000.00), a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby accepted, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2: That any amendments to this Grant shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council with twenty-one affirmative votes.

Section 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
