ORDINANCE NO. O98-1475

An ordinance authorizing the conveyance of certain properties located on Factory Street, Industry Street and Culvert Street to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee (Map 105-8, Parcels 113, 118, 167, 168 & 225).

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency owns certain properties, (Map 105-8, Parcels 113, 118, 167, 168 & 225); and

WHEREAS, the subject properties were acquired in accordance with the Community Development Block Grant Program to abate a blighting condition; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Department of Public Works has agreed to accept the property in an effort to control flooding along Browns Creek; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Property Administration is authorized to cause certain property to be accepted by conveyance from the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency, subject to the approval of the Metropolitan Council and Mayor.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council approves the following land owned by the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency to be accepted by the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee: Map 105-8, Parcels 113, 118, 167, 168 & 225, being more particularly described in Exhibit A, and attached hereto.

SECTION 2. The Director of Public Property Administration is hereby authorized to cause certain property to be conveyed from the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, and to execute any documents related thereto.

SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee requiring it.
