ORDINANCE NO. O98-1440
An ordinance approving the sale of certain properties owned by The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee (Map 81-7, Parcels 520 and 521; 1008 and 1006 Buchanan Street).
WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County owns certain properties which were acquired from the Federal Government and deeded as an asset to the Drug Enforcement Fund of the Metropolitan Police Department; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the properties are not needed for general governmental purposes; and
WHEREAS, the Public Property Administration has established a minimum selling price of $15,000.00 for said properties; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Property Administration is authorized to sell property, subject to the approval of the Metropolitan County Council and Mayor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:
SECTION 1. The Metropolitan County Council declares that the following parcels of land held by the Metropolitan Government to be surplus:
Map 81-7, Parcels 520 and 521
1008 and 1006 Buchanan Street
SECTION 2. The Director of Public Property Administration is hereby authorized to sell, for a minimum amount of $15,000.00, the properties listed above in accordance with established rules and regulations and to execute the necessary documents pertaining thereto.
SECTION 3. The proceeds from the sale of said properties shall be credited to the Drug Enforcement Fund of the Metropolitan Police Department.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
