ORDINANCE NO. O98-1436

An ordinance approving an office lease between the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, to be utilized by the Metropolitan Police Department for police-related purposes.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency (hereinafter "MDHA") is nearing completion of Eastside Enterprise Center at the Sam Levy Housing Development; and

WHEREAS, the Eastside Enterprise Center will have an 1800 square foot police alert center, a laundromat and social service offices; and

WHEREAS, MDHA desires to lease to the Metropolitan Government, by and through the Police Department, 1800 square feet of space for the police alert center.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the office lease between MDHA and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is to be used as a police alert center and the same is, hereby approved.

Section 2. The office lease may be amended by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving at least twenty-one (21) affirmative votes.

Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
