ORDINANCE NO. O98-1431

An ordinance approving a grant between the State of Tennessee, Department of Environment and Conservation, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davdison county, for the collection and disposal of waste tires.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, through its Department of Environment and Conservation, has made available to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County a grant for the purpose of accepting, collecting, and disposing of waste tires; and,

Whereas, pursuant to said grant, the Metropolitan Government shall be reimbursed at a rate of $70.00 per ton of waste tires collected, not to exceed a total amount of $407,952.00 and,

Whereas, it is in the best interests of he Metropolitan Government to accept said grant.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant between the State of Tennessee, Department of Environment and Conservation, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, which is attached hereto and fully incorporated herein by reference, be approved and the Metropolitan Mayor be authorized to execute said grant.

Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
