ORDINANCE NO. O98-1425
An ordinance accepting the donation of four (4) walk-through metal detectors and three (3) hand held wands from Service Merchandise Company, Inc. for the Metropolitan Police Department.
WHEREAS, Service Merchandise Company, Inc., has offered to donate four (4) walk-through metal detectors and three (3) hand held wands to the Metropolitan Police Department; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and its citizens to accept the donation from Service Merchandise Company, Inc., since it will assist the Metropolitan Police Department in fulfilling its duties;
Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, that:
Section 1. The donation of four (4) walk-through metal detectors and three (3) hand held wands for use of the Metropolitan Police Department is hereby accepted from Service Merchandise Company, Inc.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

AMENDMENT NO. 1
TO
ORDINANCE NO. O98-1425
Mr. President:
I move to amend Bill No. O98-1425 by deleting the word "resolution" in Section 2 thereof, and in its place inserting the word "ordinance".
