ORDINANCE NO. O98-1380

An ordinance approving a grant contract from the State of Tennessee, department of finance and administration to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the state trial courts for the provision of a residential substance abuse treatment program for state offenders.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, has awarded a grant contract in an amount not to exceed two hundred eighty five thousand dollars ($285,000.00) for the provision of a residential substance abuse treatment program for state offenders; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1: That the grant contract between the State of Tennessee and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acting through the state trial courts for the provision of a residential substance abuse treatment program, from October 1, 1998 to June 30, 1999, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

SECTION 2: That amendments to the grant contract referenced herein shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty-one affirmative votes.

SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
