ORDINANCE NO. O98-1376
An ordinance approving a drug control and systems improvement grant contract for the Metropolitan Sheriffs Office (domestic/family violence intervention project) with the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration and providing matching funds in the amount of $12,058.
WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, has awarded a grant contract in an amount not to exceed thirty six thousand one hundred seventy four dollars ($36,174.00) for the drug control and drug control systems improvement Domestic/Family Violence Intervention Project by the Metropolitan Sheriffs Office; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is required under said grant contract to provide matching funds in the amount of twelve thousand fifty eight dollars ($12,058.00); and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1: That the grant contract between the State of Tennessee and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the drug control and drug control systems improvement Domestic/Family Violence Intervention Project (Grant Number 99DG058) by the tropolitan Sheriffs Office, from July 1, 1998 to June 30, 2001, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
SECTION 2: That matching funds in the amount of twelve thousand fifty eight dollars ($12,058.00) be provided for the purpose of providing the Metropolitan Governments matching share for the program.
SECTION 3: That amendments to the grant contract referenced herein shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council, by twenty-one affirmative votes.
SECTION 4: That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
