ORDINANCE  NO. O98-1375

An ordinance approving a grant in the amount of $27,000 to the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation for implementation of a program promoting the eradication of noxious weeds.

WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms set forth in the document attached as Exhibit A to this Ordinance, the National Fish and Wildlife Fouation ("NFWF") proposes to grant (the "Grant") to the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation the sum of twenty-seven thousand dollars ($27,000), including matching funds in the amount of seventeen thousand dollars ($17,000) from Friends of Warner Parks, to implement a program promoting the eradication of noxious weeds on park property; and

WHEREAS, the citizens of Nashville and Davidson County will benefit by accepting the Grant.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Grant (Exhibit A) is hereby approved.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the Grant.

SECTION 3. Any amendment to the Grant must be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving at least 21 affirmative votes.

SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
