ENACTED 10/06/1998

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, has awarded a grant contract in an amount not to exceed fifty nine thousand four hundred twenty dollars ($59,420.00) for the continuation of the drug control and drug control systems improvement Millenium Linking Project by the Metropolitan Police Department; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is required under said grant contract to provide matching funds in the amount of nineteen thousand eight hundred seven dollars ($19,807.00); and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted;

SECTION 1. That the grant contract between the State of Tennessee and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the drug control and drug control systems improvement Millenium Linking Project (Grant Number 99DG055) by the Metropolitan Police Department, from July 1, 1998 to June 30, 2000, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

SECTION 2. That matching funds in the amount of nineteen thousand eight hundred seven dollars ($19,807.00) be provided for the purpose of providing the Metropolitan Government’s matching share for the program.

SECTION 3. That amendments to the grant contract referenced herein shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty-one affirmative votes.

SECTION 4. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
