ORDINANCE NO. O98-1356
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CONVEYANCE OF CERTAIN PROPERTY FROM THE METROPOLITAN DEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AGENCY TO THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE, FOR THE USE AND BENEFIT OF THE GREENWAYS COMMISSION OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT (TAX MAP 82-13, PARCELS 394 AND 395 AND TAX MAP 82-14, PARCEL 93).
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency is the owner of certain property (Tax Map 82-13, Parcels 394 and 395 and Tax Map 82-14, Parcel 93) which was purchased from CSX Transportation, Inc., at the request of the Metropolitan Government; and
WHEREAS, said property was purchased for the specific purpose of adding acreage to that controlled by the Greenways Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Board of Parks and Recreation and the Director of Public Property have approved the acceptance of said property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:
SECTION 1. The Director of Public Property is hereby authorized to accept title from the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency for land (Tax Map 82-13, Parcels 394 and 395 and Tax Map 82-14, Parcel 93) shown on the map identified as Exhibit "A" and attached hereto and made part of this ordinance.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, requiring it.
