ENACTED 10/06/1998

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Agriculture, has awarded a Grant for fiscal year 1998-99 in an amount not to exceed thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the department of codes, for hiring staff to accomplish additional urban forestry activities; and

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

SECTION 1. That the grant by and between State of Tennessee, Department of Agriculture to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the department of codes, for hiring staff to accomplish additional urban forestry activities, in an amount not to exceed thirty thousand dollars ($30,000), a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

SECTION 2. That any amendments to this grant shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty-one affirmative votes.

SECTION 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
