ORDINANCE NO. O98-1298

AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY AND THE EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS DISTRICT FOR THE 1998-99 FISCAL YEAR.

WHEREAS, the Emergency Communications District of Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County was created by ordinance No. 088-609; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Departments of Police and Fire seek to enter into an agreement with the Emergency Communications District whereby enhanced-911 service will be provided for the Metropolitan Government area; and

WHEREAS, under the agreement the Emergency Communications District will reimburse the Metropolitan Government for the provisions of certain services to the Emergency Communications District by the Metropolitan Departments of Information Systems, Public Works and the Metropolitan Police and Fire Departments.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY.

SECTION 1: That the attached contract between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the Emergency Communications District of Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County, for services not less than $36,865 for the 1998-99 fiscal year, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same on behalf of the Metropolitan Government.

SECTION 2: That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
