ORDINANCE NO. O98-1294

AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AN EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL FORMULA GRANT PROGRAM CONTRACT WITH THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION, OFFICE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE PROGRAMS, IN THE AMOUNT OF FIFTY-FOUR THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED SIXTY-NINE DOLLARS ($54,869.00) FOR ONE YEAR FOR THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY GENERAL (STOP VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN PROGRAM).

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1: That the grant contract between the State of Tennessee and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the Stop Violence Against Women Program (Grant Number 98PR0008) by the 20th Judicial District Attorney General, in an amount not to exceed fifty-four thousand eight hundred sixty-nine dollars ($54,869.00) with an in-kind local match of benefits and administration services not to exceed eighteen thousand two hundred ninety-eight dollars ($18,290.00) for a term commencing on July 1, 1998, and extending through June 30,1999, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved as including the requirement for an in-kind match, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

SECTION 2: That amendments to the grant contract referenced herein shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council, by twenty-one affirmative votes.

SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
