ENACTED 08/03/1998

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County owns certain parcels of property; and

WHEREAS, these properties were acquired due to the failure of previous owners to pay property taxes; and

WHEREAS, the redemption period for said properties has expired; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency has expressed the desire to acquire these properties to provide home ownership opportunities through the Urban Homestead Program and other similar programs; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Property Administration is authorized to transfer property, subject to the approval of the Metropolitan County Council and Mayor.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1.The Metropolitan County Council declares that the following parcels of land held by the Metropolitan Government to be surplus:

SECTION 2.The Director of Public Property Administration is hereby authorized to transfer said properties listed above to the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency and is authorized to execute the necessary documents pertaining thereto..

SECTION 3.This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
