ORDINANCE NO. O98-1279

AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE TRANSFER OF CERTAIN PROPERTY OWNED BY THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE, TO THE METROPOLITAN DEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AGENCY (300 JAMES ROBERTSON PARKWAY, TAX MAP 82-15, PARCEL 57).

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County owns a certain parcel of property; and

WHEREAS, this property was utilized for the Tourist Information Center which has moved to the Nashville Arena; and

WHEREAS, it has been determined that The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County has no use for the aforementioned property; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency has expressed the desire to acquire said property; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Property Administration is authorized to transfer property, subject to the approval of the Metropolitan County Council and Mayor.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan County Council declares that the following parcel of land owned by the Metropolitan Government to be surplus:

300 James Robertson Parkway
Tax Map 82-15, Parcel 57

SECTION 2. The Director of Public Property Administration is hereby authorized to transfer said property listed above to the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency and is hereby authorized to execute the necessary documents pertaining thereto.

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, requiring it.
