ORDINANCE NO. O98-1272

AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO A LEASE AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE MARTHA O'BRYAN CENTER AND THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE METROPOLITAN SOCIAL SERVICES COMMISSION TO EXTEND THE LEASE TERM.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission has negotiated an Amendment to the Lease Agreement with the Martha O’Bryan Center to lease office space at 711 South 7 th Street which extends the lease term from October 1, 1997 to June 30, 1998 and increases the monthly rental payment to six hundred dollars ($600), a copy of which is attached hereto; and

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this amendment to the Lease Agreement be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1: That the Amendment to the Lease Agreement entered into between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission and the Martha O’Bryan Center which extends the lease term from October 1, 1997 to June 30, 1998 and increases the monthly rental payment to six hundred dollars ($600), a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

SECTION 2: That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
