ORDINANCE NO. O98-1189

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE OFFICIAL TAX MAP OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE, BY ABANDONING, VACATING AND CONVEYING TO ADJOINING PROPERTY OWNERS A CERTAIN PARCEL OF PROPERTY SHOWN ON TAX MAP 60-16 AS PARCEL 120, ALL OF WHICH IS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN.

WHEREAS, parcel 120 on tax map 60-16 (see Exhibit A) was created as a spike strip with the development of the surrounding subdivisions; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acquired the property in 1979 due to the previous owner’s failure to pay property taxes; and

WHEREAS, it has been determined that the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County has no use for the aforementioned property.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. The property shown as parcel 120 on tax map 60-16 (see Exhibit A) is hereby abandoned, vacated and conveyed to adjoining property owners.

SECTION 2. Any easements contained within said property, whether of record or not, are hereby retained.

SECTION 3. Be it further enacted that the Director of the Department of Public Works be, and is hereby authorized and directed, upon the enactment and approval of this ordinance, to cause said change to be made on the tax map referenced in Section 1.

SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, requiring it.
