ORDINANCE NO. O98-1179 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A GRANT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $10,000, FROM THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION TO THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY, ACTING THROUGH THE METROPOLITAN POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE STOP THE VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN DISCRETIONARY ALLOCATION PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, has awarded Grant No. 96WF008 for fiscal year 1997 in an amount not to exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000) to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Police Department for the Stop the Violence Against Women Discretionary Allocation Project; and
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, for fiscal year 1997 in an amount not to exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000) to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Police Department for the Stop the Violence Against Women Discretionary Allocation Project, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
SECTION 2. That the sum of three thousand three hundred thirty four dollars ($3,334) be provided for the purpose of providing the Metropolitan Government’s in-kind matching share for the program.
SECTION 3. Any amendments to this grant may be approved by a ORDINANCE of the Metropolitan Council which receives at least twenty-one affirmative votes.
SECTION 4. That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
